About Opportunity Zones
The U. S. Opportunity Zone Program was established in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, with the goal of spurring economic development and job creation in distressed communities. A Qualified Opportunity Fund is an investment vehicle set up as a partnership or corporation for the purpose of investing in eligible property located in an Opportunity Zone. Qualified Opportunity Funds are capitalized by realized capital gains and must deploy 90 percent of their capital into opportunity zone properties.
